I played the hell out of this game back in the day. I was disappointed that war thunder didn't bring the online game mode where you attempted to land on the enemy runway to take their airbase.

Been working on getting every rank one plane in war thunder

actually the PC version of birds of steel ( pacific theater birds of prey ) that we never got turned into War Thunder. Was suppose to be a tester for the port, also paid for the pre order and uhm long story short, during development they said they where going to do a combined platform for birds of steel and birds of prey so it's easily updated, called it war thunder then went silent. Months later they said they scrapped the port and war thunder is a f2p.

P-39 in WT is known to be very strong for its BR for years. Its very fast for its BR and everything else is above average too. It can turn with almost anything if youre fast enough. Climb is good. Accelerates good. Doesnt compress that bad. Strong gun. Good energy retention. At low altitude it can perform very well. Only when at high alt does it become outmatched. And even at high altitude it can hold its own if it stays fast.

I gotta say I played the P39 a LOT back in the day (2014-ish) and seeing it now it hits about as hard as I remember, if spottily haha. I think it's hit or miss nature really is a combination of WT admittedly very hardcore take on aircraft hitboxes, weapon penetration (especially on non essential sections, like the back of the fuselage in some planes) making the shells fly through without detonation, and the belts for the cannon just simply not being ideal. Each of those conditions alone would be fine but all three together can make you feel like you're thumping multiple rounds dead on into the enemy aircraft without a scrap of damage to it.

Overlooked? You mean overpowered. This thing is crazy popular and known to be severely OP. I don't think you know how guns are supposed to work. You get on them, wait until the last possible second, have to flick shot which ends in a miss or maybe just one hit, and then complain that the guns aren't working. I really don't get it.

Trust me when I say this WEBE, that plane isnt really spoken about yes, but its absolutely abused in arcade lol. That cannon sniping you at range and snapping a wing off like its make of rice paper is all I get lol.

The p39 in the right hands is an absolute beast under 18k feet. The airframe has alot of natural lift when your in simulator battles. So if your a savy pilot you can use that natural lift to turn in tighter than all German fighters. This is a delicate balance though because it's extremely easy to exceed the airframes angle of attack and stall the plane. So get some practice, and you'll thank me later

Well, the U.S. Airacobras dont use .303's. They use .30-06. The P-39N is an awesome plane

I remember the Soviet Ace P39 version with the 2 50's and 37 was incredibly good, I assume it still is as well. Losing the 4 30's was never that much of a trade-off for being slightly lighter. I always preferred the P400 with its 20mm though, I'm not good with the shotgun cannons. These planes (P400, P39 and P63) have some of my favourite cockpits though, I love the overall shape.

Once you spend some time learning the 37mm's ballistics, the P-39N is arguably one of the strongest low tier planes in the game.
